The Challenge

A Lake District Council had approached altSRD as their workforce needed greater flexibility. The Council had a dispersed workforce and operated in a rural area. Having a fixed office with under-developed remote working had an impact on productivity and data security.

The Solution

Following a successful proof-of-concept using Awingu, The Council were in a position to ramp up their Secure Remote Desktop adoption to more users. This included personnel from all departments, including Adult Social Care, Housing, Environment and more. altSRD provided options to enable ramp up, including re-using of existing hardware to save on expenditure.

The Outcome

The Council's workforce were now enabled to work remotely and access up-to-date data and apps in real-time, as well as substantially reducing expenditure and wait times, with less effort spent on travelling back to the office and productivity increasing.
